mightily pissed. i don't like it when a group of people have already fixed an outing or gathering, and then some people go and invite others at whim. it doesn't matter whether you eventually ask the rest if they're ok, nor if you ask beforehand whether you can invite others. what are the rest supposed to say? "no"? if you really want to ask someone along, prepare a reason for the others. give them a reason beforehand to reject, ask as though that reason is really a very serious concern to you and is holding you back. offer this reason as an easy excuse for the others so that if they don't want those unrelated people to join, they can just use this excuse which you have prepared for them. naturally, if they don't mind, they'd tell you so. it's a subtle art. when will people learn? and how many can master it? posted by Yee 4:31 PM . . .
