How to Make an MS-DOS Boot Disk in XP

You can still make a DOS startup disk using Windows XP, which you can use to start your computer from a floppy. Here's how:

1. Click Start | My Computer.
2. Right click the icon for your floppy disk drive. Ensure that a floppy disk is inserted in the drive.
3. Select Format from the context menu.
4. Select Create an MS-DOS startup disk.
5. Click Start.
6. Click OK to confirm.
7. When XP finishes writing the disk, click Close.
